DORFPLATZ neubau(en) 08
The Tanz Atelier Wien “KAIRÒS extension“ DORFPLATZ: neubau(en) 08 deals with the area Bandgasse/Kandlgasse. The entire area is comprised in an imaginary close loop. Together with five other theatres of Wien Neubau DORFPLATZ: neubau(en) 08 will open the Bezirksfestwochen on the 7th of May.
Through dance intervention, urban space is used and interpreted in new ways, for example as field investigation, appropriation processes and the offering of communication. KAIRÒS stands for the quality of the moment – the art of doing the right thing at the right time. By using the diversity of urban space and showing the situational and the temporary, the new dimension of DORFPLATZ: neubau(en) 08 will be made visible.
The adaption of the years 1908, 1918…2008 – a journey through time, will function as a background. Five theatrical initiatives from Wien Neubau step onto the streets showing extracts from their performances and their understanding from the “eighth-years”. The architecture group osa performs with its project “Bekleidungspraxis: Anprobe” in the public space with a focus on the area Bandgasse.
DORFPLATZ: neubau(en) 08 stands for openness and exchange among each other, with residents of the neighbourhood and beyond.
